About Neurocapabilities
Neurocapabilities provides services for individuals and organisations based on the idea that our unique skills and capabilities can be identified and developed, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent.

We celebrate and value individual differences but also recognise that some of what makes us unique can make life very challenging.
Chris Winek CPsychol., AFBPsS - Director of Neurocapabilities
I am a caring, compassionate and devoted parent and member of a neurodiverse family. I love sport, exercise and being in nature.
Professional corporate experience
I am a fully qualified and chartered occupational psychologist with a varied career that has involved working inside organisations as a psychologist, often as a member of HR leadership teams, in roles focused on the assessment and development of individual and collective human capability. I have experience as a leader, a manager, and as an individual subject matter expert in a range of contexts including manufacturing, broadcast and media, international consulting, finance, pensions, the charity sector, healthcare and the NHS. I am based in the UK, have worked with clients globally, and lived and worked in the Middle East for several years.

As an experienced leadership and talent consultant and executive coach, I conduct assessments to select and develop experienced or future leaders and have expertise in all aspects of the talent cycle. As a leadership coach, I work with individuals and teams to facilitate the improvement, development, progression, or performance enhancements that my clients most need. As a learning and development expert, I design, deliver, and source impactful solutions to grow people capability, improve organisational culture, and increase employee engagement.
Neurodiversity experience:
Over the last ten years, my growing exposure to my family members’ neurodivergence and subsequent diagnosis led to a desire to learn about neurodivergent traits and conditions and then to train and deliver screening, assessment and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions and specific learning disabilities (SpLD). I have first-hand experience navigating the challenges faced by parents, children, and adults as a result of neurodivergence. I am passionate about supporting others to understand their own capabilities, whether neurotypical or neurodivergent.
My experience includes:
-
Delivery of holistic screening and diagnostic assessments to identify specific learning difficulties (SpLD such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and dyscalculia) and neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism and ADHD) for adult clients including junior doctors and university students. These assessments include a developmental history.
-
Delivery of gold standard Autism assessments (ADOS) in a clinical setting for children and young people between 5-18 years of age as a part of multidisciplinary teams. The assessments feed directly into the diagnosis process for autism.
-
Delivery of cognitive assessments for adults to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, including measurement of working memory, processing speed, verbal and non-verbal abilities.
My Offer
My experience in corporate, clinical and educational settings means I can offer a range of services to individuals and to organisations.

While I have tried to give a flavour of the types of support and services I can provide, I know your challenges may not fit neatly into these boxes. If you have a problem for which the solution seems unclear, please do get in touch for a conversation.

If I cannot help directly or the issue falls outside my expertise, it is likely that one of the skilled and experienced professional practitioners in my network would be able to support you, and I would be more than pleased to introduce you.
